The Government of West Bengal has decided to spearhead the implementation of campaign "একটি গাছ মায়ের নামে", in alignment with "Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam" an initiative launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 5th June, 2024. The programme will commence with celebration of the World Environment Day on the 5th of June and continue till the 31st of March 2027. The Ministry of Environment and Forest & Climate Change has set a target of planting 1.1 Crore saplings for the State of West Bengal for the current year. With a well-coordinated effort and cooperation from all organisations we can easily surpass the target set for our state.

Enhancing the green canopy of West Bengal is our collective socioeconomic and environmental responsibility. This initiative is a unified Statewide programme, involving public sector undertakings, infrastructure agencies, central institutions, and other stakeholders, prominent private corporate houses. The said campaign launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on World Environment Day i.e. 5th June 2024 is in true spirit giving respect to our mothers and the mother earth. This program not only ensures steps towards sustainable development but also for keeping the earth healthy for our future generations.
